Philharmonie - Berlin, Germany 2024

Located next to the Postdamer Platz and just a few steps away from the former Berlin Wall the Berlin Philharmonie was built during 1960 to 1963 to replace the old Philharmonie which was destroyed during World War II. The hall has a unique style, asymmetrical and tentlike, with the main concert hall in the shape of a pentagon. The height of the rows of seats increases irregularly with distance from the stage, which is located at the centre of the hall. This style of seating arrangement was pioneered by the Philharmonie and later imitated in Sydney (Opera House), Leipzig (Gewandhaus), Los Angeles (Walt Disney Concert Hall) and Paris (Philharmonie).
